Self Service is a breeze thanks to IDM-Portal and Single Sign-On.
All data is immediately available for Active Directory, Exchange, O365, Outlook, Skype and other applications.
A simple click on the profile photo activates the Self Service mask in IDM-Portal.
Your employees see an easy and self explanatory web interface which is intuitive to use.
Within the IDM-Portal’s configuration tool you can predefine all attributes which Self Service users are allowed to read and edit.
In the near future users will be able to manage their own data on a much bigger scale. In a first step, users start with a simple Self Service mode and update their telephone numbers only. Later on, in a more advanced scenario, employees choose applications, proxy or share permissions by themselves in Self Service — similar to groups in social networks, such as Facebook, Xing or LinkedIn. Users can select project groups which they want to be a member of or software applications which they want to use. The request is then either approved or rejected by an approval workflow. A simple approval e‑mail is releasing the permission. User driven identity management is available today.
Users can update their own contact details, such as their direct line and mobile phone numbers, as soon as some details have changed. These types of simple user administration tasks no longer require an involvement by HR or the HelpDesk.
Displaying a high quality profile photo in the intranet phone book is a must have for many employees. Involve your users and let them look after their own profile picture.
Profile photos in Active Directory are also used in Outlook und Skype. In IDM-Portal’s Self Service mode users can upload their photos directly to the AD phone book.
The Self Service mask allows for a number of customisations and individual touches. Your corporate design is smoothly embedded as much as your internal terminology used.
Provide a text box with single line or multi line properties, so that users can describe a department, task or project. These are only two of many different options.
Traditionally, administrators are responsible for managing user data in Active Directory. AD requires expert IT knowledge and experience and is not available for the average user. FirstWare IDM-Portal allows non-IT-qualified employees to read the data via a user-friendly web portal and update their own profile.
Automatic e‑mail signatures which are based on data in Active Directory are a sought after topic. There are a number of e‑mail signature software providers which offer different solutions. The Disclaimer software application specialises on pulling relevant data from AD. It creates signature templates with text, pictures and dynamic fields. Companies use these kind of tools to have consistent, standardised signatures for all employees.
However, it requires data of a consistent high quality in Active Directory.
With FirstWare IDM-Portal you provide the required AD data quality for e‑mail signatures.
The Self Service role in FirstWare IDM-Portal allows users to immediately edit and update their own profile. As the portal writes directly into the AD database, the Exchange signature software solution then automatically updates the signature. It guarantess that signatures are aways up-to-date abd accurate. The values are displayed in Microsoft Outlook, Skype (Lync) and Office 365.
Share responsibilities and allow your users to maintain their own signatures.
You can use FirstWare IDM-Portal as a pure AD Self Service tool. Guide your employees via a generic intranet link to their own profile page in the portal. The redirection happens automatically through the login credentials, as known from single sign-on.
