From updating per­so­nal data to soft­ware distribution

In the near future users will be able to mana­ge their own data on a much big­ger sca­le. In a first step, users start with a simp­le Self Ser­vice mode and update their tele­pho­ne num­bers only. Later on, in a more advan­ced sce­n­a­rio, employees choo­se app­li­ca­ti­ons, pro­xy or share per­mis­si­ons by them­sel­ves in Self Ser­vice — simi­lar to groups in social net­works, such as Face­book, Xing or Lin­kedIn. Users can select pro­ject groups which they want to be a mem­ber of or soft­ware app­li­ca­ti­ons which they want to use. The request is then eit­her appro­ved or rejec­ted by an appro­val work­flow. A simp­le appro­val e‑mail is releasing the per­mis­si­on. User dri­ven iden­ti­ty manage­ment is avail­ab­le today.

Auto­ma­tic e‑mail signa­tures which are based on data in Acti­ve Direc­to­ry are a sought after topic.
