IDM-Portal 5.3 Release – Management of Entra ID users
Hofstetten, 24.02.2026 – With IDM-Portal 5.3, FirstAttribute launches a fully cloud-integrated version of its Identity & Access Management solution. The latest release offers IT teams better oversight, faster management capabilities, and modern features to efficiently organize users, groups, and devices.
The new features in IDM-Portal 5.3 connect AD and Entra ID users through a unified search. Automated workflows and a contemporary user interface make routine tasks significantly more efficient and complex permission assignments more secure.

Entra ID users fully integrated into user management
The creation of new Entra ID users as well as the updating of user attributes now happens entirely via the IDM-Portal. Companies operating in a hybrid IT environment can manage their users in both AD and Entra ID directly through the IDM-Portal.
This eliminates the need to switch between different consoles and admin centers entirely.
Furthermore, the IDM-Portal now allows central management of identities from third-party systems. In addition to AD and Entra ID users, other identity types can also be integrated.

Quick Access to All Objects
With the release of IDM-Portal 5.3, the user interface has been completely modernized and made more user-friendly. The new search function allows you to find all objects directly without navigating through multiple menus—whether they are AD users, Entra ID users, or other identity types.
Configure Detailed Views
Administrators can configure search pages or templates with different detailed views. This automatically displays the appropriate detail page for each object type.
This means users can be searched for or created based on a template.
Example: All identities with the attribute “Sales” are displayed, regardless of the system they come from. You can then further filter by type, status, or other attributes. This creates transparency and allows a quick overview of all relevant objects.
Users are also created uniformly and maintained properly across all systems.
Identify Active Members Immediately
The member overviews now display only active members. This allows administrators to immediately see who is currently valid without having to sift through inactive or former members.
Modernized User Interface for Member Management
Group management is now easier and more efficient. Users can be found directly via search and added to the appropriate group.
This saves time and reduces errors, as you no longer need to search through the entire list. Group maintenance becomes clearer, more efficient, and more intuitive—a clear advantage, especially with large user numbers or complex group structures.
This user-friendly view is also applied to individual users.
Automation
IDM-Portal 5.3 supports automated workflows that significantly simplify routine tasks.
- Schedule AD Contacts: Manage Active Directory contacts automatically and control their changes based on time.
- Enable mandatory comments: Set mandatory comments for approval-required groups and review them automatically.
- Time-based changes: Create and manage “Member Schedules” for Entra ID users and groups more efficiently thanks to optimized automation.
With these improvements, you save time, reduce errors, and execute regular tasks reliably.
Device Management via IDM-Portal

This expands the IDM-Portal’s functions to more identities and devices within the company, offering centralized access to AD and cloud devices.
Performance and Security
IDM-Portal 5.3 brings significant improvements in performance and stability. Load times when opening and saving configurations have been reduced, allowing administrators to work faster. At the same time, security measures in JavaScript and the API have been strengthened. The PasswordEncryptor can now be integrated into automated service password renewal processes, making sensitive password management even more secure.
Further Optimizations
In addition to the new features, bugs were fixed and minor improvements implemented. This includes correct display of memberships, optimized dropdown functions, reliable workflows in the schedule dialog, and additional performance updates. Overall, this ensures stable, secure, and efficient use of the IDM-Portal.
