When hospitals merge to form an association, the number of employees logically increases as well. While it used to be sufficient to make employee contact data available internally in Excel files, this no longer works in practice once a certain number of employees is reached.<\/p>\n<p>Our customer, one of the largest German healthcare providers in public ownership, provides inpatient and outpatient care to around 200,000 patients annually with approximately 6,000 employees.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, contact data for clinic employees was maintained in Excel spreadsheets. These were published on the intranet and, if required, also printed out and handed out to the receptions and wards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, just updating and distributing the Excel files on a regular basis was very time consuming and the contact lists were never up to date.<\/p>\n<p>We were able to assist the customer with a quick and straightforward solution.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Simple-easy-to-read-employee-directory-for-large-clinics\"><\/span>Simple, easy-to-read employee directory for large clinics<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Easy to manage and well-organized &#8211; this was the customer&#8217;s requirement for the online employee directory. Since the hospital IT manages all employees in AD, the IDM-Portal was the ideal solution.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"imgshadow aligncenter wp-image-42683\" title=\"Employee directory for clinic\" src=\"https:\/\/firstware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Phone-book-view_Clinic-300x184.jpg\" alt=\"Employee directory for clinic\" width=\"700\" height=\"430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.firstware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Phone-book-view_Clinic-300x184.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.firstware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Phone-book-view_Clinic-1024x629.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.firstware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Phone-book-view_Clinic-768x472.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.firstware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Phone-book-view_Clinic-1536x944.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.firstware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Phone-book-view_Clinic.jpg 1643w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For a quick and practical introduction into the clinic&#8217;s daily routine, the customer opted for a <strong>classic <a href=\"https:\/\/firstware.com\/en\/identity-management\/phone-book\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">phone book solution<\/a> with a read role<\/strong>. Employees are allowed to read the phonebook, but not edit anything. Due to the flexible configuration options in the IDM-Portal, many additional roles with different authorizations can be generated as required.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Flexible-up-to-date-and-always-available\"><\/span>Flexible, up to date and always available<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Strictly speaking, the IDM-Portal relies on the AD providing a user-friendly interface.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>All employee entries are maintained via IDM-Portal<\/strong> and thus written <strong>directly into the AD<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>further database is not necessary<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The input interface is designed so intuitively that even <strong>non-IT employees can take over data maintenance<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Through <strong>role-based administration<\/strong>, tasks related to data maintenance can be delegated.<\/li>\n<li>All technically important information is generated by <strong>automatisms<\/strong> in the background.<\/li>\n<li>With the <strong>flexible view<\/strong>, the employee directory can be sorted by clinic, department or ward.<\/li>\n<li>An <strong>export function<\/strong> is available for downloading the entire phone book.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The IDM-Portal has a modern telephone directory interface that can be individually <strong>adapted to the corporate design of the customer environment<\/strong>.
